How do you know if you are impacting the darkness? You may really never know by the cheers of your colleagues, or the applause of the crowd! You will not know because of health, wealth or materiel. You will not know because of the happy atmosphere, the laughter or contentment you feel. You will not know by the crowds that surround you, the emails, texts and phone calls. Sorry all of those experiences and feelings may actually mean you are making the smallest of impacts if any at all!
When you have a God ordained dream and a vision to change lives it will be met by the most difficult of feelings. In fact you colleagues will flee from you, and the jeers will be amplified! Your health will be challenged because of the stress, your wealth will be gone because of the need and you will not have the things other people possess because you are possessed with a call. Most days you will fight dark depression, will not hear the laughter and if you do it will be because you are the one being laughed at. You will lose sleep because of the discontentment you feel in your soul. You will be lonely and the phone calls will be bill collectors and harassers. Your communication will Be in the form of those who want to correct you, council you or call you out on your stand. Even your communication from the inner part of your being is blaming you, criticizing your actions and lack of any momentum. The only thing you have is a call, a cross and a commitment to keep moving forward. In those days prayer, the Holy Spirit and Gods Word are all you have. But they are all you need to make it. The victory is not about you but about impacting the darkness. You may never know the impact or the results! But if people like you don’t pay the price then the darkness wins. Because you continue the Kingdom of God wins and the lost are redeemed and lives are changed!
2 Corithians 4:5-12 For we do not preach ourselves, but Jesus Christ as Lord, and ourselves as your servants for Jesus’ sake. For God, who said, “Let light shine out of darkness,”* made his light shine in our hearts to give us the light of the knowledge of the glory of God in the face of Christ.
But we have this treasure in jars of clay to show that this all-surpassing power is from God and not from us. We are hard pressed on every side, but not crushed; perplexed, but not in despair; persecuted, but not abandoned; struck down, but not destroyed. We always carry around in our body the death of Jesus, so that the life of Jesus may also be revealed in our body. For we who are alive are always being given over to death for Jesus’ sake, so that his life may be revealed in our mortal body. So then, death is at work in us, but life is at work in you.
