A quick search on caves in the Bible reveals many things. People went in caves when they were afraid, failed, or died. I guess they were the alone places of the land of the Bible. All of us at times have gone to our caves to recover. I recharge by alone times. I have to be careful in those cave moments to not set up housekeeping. God made us to be on the trails, the road and the fields of life. The work is accomplished when we dig into life with energy and urgency. There are too many people that need the ministry God has given us to hide in our caves because of fear, hurt or even death of dreams. In the book of John , Jesus came to a cave where his friend Lazarus was laid to rest. It was there that He demanded Lazarus “to come forth.” That rock rolled away and Lazarus came out leaping toward life! Be sure to come out of the caves you are set up in when Jesus calls you. All of us need to “come apart” to keep “from falling apart.” But if you stay in the cave too long you will lose your part in the journey you were called to walk in.
